From tax returns to dumplings
Some people change jobs. Ilona flipped her entire life inside out. For 13 years, she felt right at home in the world of file folders, deadlines, and spreadsheets as a tax clerk – and today?
Ilona’s bold career switch
After 13 years in the tax field, Ilona decided to start a business making traditional Russian dumplings. Together with her mom, she now runs a food truck, filling pelmeni with the same dedication she brought to balance sheets just a few weeks ago. Now that’s what we call a tasty plot twist.

The smell of home
Ilona knows her way around tax returns, deadlines and anything that smells faintly of Excel. For over a decade, she worked at a tax consultancy and truly had the job down to a science. But as charming as numbers can be, they don’t exactly smell like freshly rolled dumplings. And that particular aroma had a permanent spot at home – thanks to her mom.

The Eco Trailer 220
For her culinary journey, Ilona chose the Eco Trailer 220 – and for good reason.

Mom, the kitchen maestro
Ilona’s mother is what you’d call a true culinary artist. For five years, she worked as head chef at a company specializing in Eastern European cuisine, where she crafted pelmeni, vareniki, and a whole array of Eastern European and Central Asian specialties every single day. When the company relocated and the commute became impossible, the job ended, but the passion didn’t fade one bit. At home, the cooking simply continued: khinkali, manti, chebureki, syrniki, all handmade, all with love.

A lightbulb moment at the kitchen table
One day, something just clicked for Ilona. Mom had the cooking talent, Ilona had the experience with numbers, the structure, and the business mindset, so why not combine the two and build something of their own? Said and done: coaching, research, business plan, everything was tackled exactly the way you’d expect from a tax professional. Very orderly, very thorough and with a generous helping of gut feeling on top.
Frozen was just the beginning
At first, the specialties went out frozen to customers. But let’s be honest: a pelmeni is at its happiest fresh, warm, and served straight from the pros. So the search began for the perfect food truck and ended at Multiwagon. The concept fit, the truck fit, and suddenly the idea had wheels.

A smooth process with Multiwagon
And speaking of Multiwagon, the buying process went just as smoothly as cooking pelmeni. The team took the time to sit down with her, talk through which equipment she’d actually need, and figure out exactly how the trailer’s design should look. The result? A food truck tailor-made for her concept, without any guesswork or unnecessary extras. Ilona puts it simply: she’d recommend Multiwagon to anyone in a heartbeat.
