How do I maintain my Multiwagon?
Even the best partner needs care! To ensure your multi-purpose vehicle stays in top condition, we have summarized the most important tips for regular maintenance and care in this blog.
Everyday Cleaning Routine
It is generally essential to keep the trailer thoroughly clean, as dirt and moisture can have negative long-term effects. Pay particular attention to sealing food-sensitive products that are susceptible to pests in airtight containers. Choose suitable cleaning agents: for most interior surfaces, a mild cleaner—such as standard dishwashing liquid—is sufficient. For cleaning the trailer’s exterior, we recommend using a specialized car cleaner.
An important tip: regularly treat the seals (rubber gaskets) of your multi-purpose vehicle with a rubber- or acid-free silicone spray, especially during periods of frost. Also remember to regularly grease and oil the tow ball of the trailer hitch to prevent corrosion (rust formation).

Tire pressure and tread depth
Correct tire pressure is essential. Pressure that is too low can lead to increased wear and unnecessarily high fuel costs, while excessive pressure can compromise driving safety. You should therefore check the tire pressure of your multi-purpose vehicle monthly; this can usually be done easily at most standard gas stations. Also make sure to replace the tires in good time once the tread depth falls below the legally required minimum or shows significant wear.

Procedure for defective components
Important: If components are defective, we strongly advise against replacing them yourself during the warranty period, as this may void your warranty claims. In general, we always recommend using original replacement parts. In such cases, please contact Multiwagon directly. You will be connected with one of our experts, who will provide comprehensive advice and assist you in sourcing the correct replacement parts.

Effective protection of the water system in cold conditions
To avoid frost damage and the associated costly repairs, it is essential to completely drain the entire water supply system before the onset of winter (during extended periods of inactivity) or after each working day (when used during cold seasons).
Draining and flushing: Prevent residual water from freezing by thoroughly draining the pipes and then flushing them with a suitable cleaning agent. Make sure that the drain hose and the wastewater tank are also completely cleaned and dried.
Special note on coffee machines/appliances: All water-carrying devices, such as coffee machines, instantaneous water heaters, or boilers, must also be carefully drained and dried. If water remains in these systems, freezing can cause cracks in pumps, valves, and tanks, potentially resulting in irreparable damage to the appliance. If you have any questions or uncertainties, please feel free to contact us at any time.

If your trailer will be out of use for an extended period—such as during the winter months—some preparatory measures are essential. First, ensure that the entire trailer has been thoroughly cleaned. This not only helps prevent mold formation but also avoids attracting pests due to food residues.
Protecting tires and axle: It is advisable to check the tire pressure before the storage period and increase it slightly. To prevent so-called flat spots (tire deformation), you should slightly jack up the trailer or relieve the load using the support stands. This removes pressure from the tires.
Finally, for safety reasons, it is necessary to remove the gas cylinders and store them in a compliant, designated storage location.
