A barbecue food truck is ideal for entrepreneurs who want to serve grilled dishes, burgers or slow-cooked BBQ at various locations. Think of festivals, corporate events, outdoor venues, catering assignments and pop-up stalls.
At Multiwagon, you’re not just choosing a mobile barbecue, but a complete concept that suits your way of working. You can opt for a compact BBQ setup, a high-capacity grill food truck or a smoker where smoky flavour and the dining experience take centre stage.

The right setup depends on your menu and required capacity. A grill food truck is a strong choice when speed matters and you need to prepare many dishes in a short time. A BBQ smoker is better suited to concepts where slow cooking, smoky flavour and visible preparation play a bigger role.
| BBQ concept | Best suited for | Key decision |
|---|---|---|
| Compact BBQ setup | Smaller catering jobs and private events | Mobility, easy setup and clear presentation |
| Grill food truck | Festivals, busy outdoor locations and fast service | Hourly capacity, workspace and guest flow |
| Large BBQ trailer | Professional catering and larger groups | Grill surface, service speed and team setup |
| BBQ smoker | Slow cooking, smoked BBQ and food experience | Cooking time, smoky flavour and on-site presentation |

An on-site food truck barbecue needs to do more than just grill well. The layout must make sense for your team, be clear to your guests, and suit the space you’re working in. Especially at busy events, the combination of preparation, cooking and serving is key to the outcome.
That is why it is important to think in advance about the number of guests, the type of dishes, the desired speed and the way in which people order and receive their food. A compact concept can work well at private events, whilst a larger BBQ trailer is better suited to venues with high footfall.

BBQ is all about the experience. Guests see the fire, smell the food cooking and immediately recognise what your concept offers. That makes a BBQ food truck on location ideal for entrepreneurs who don’t just want to serve food, but also want to create a distinctive experience.
For business use, that image is important. Your food truck grill must fit your brand, your menu and the environment in which you operate. The right layout helps you work efficiently, whilst the exterior of the concept ensures recognisability and trust.

If you mainly want to grill burgers, meat, fish or vegetables directly, a grill-focused model is the obvious choice. If you want to focus on pulled pork, brisket or other slow-cooked dishes, a smoker makes more sense. If you’re working at large events, hourly capacity becomes more important than a compact size.
Multiwagon offers several models within the BBQ category, including BBQ Trailers and BBQ Smokers. The best choice depends on your menu, your team, the venues and the number of guests you realistically want to serve.

A barbecue food truck requires thorough preparation. Think about the available workspace, the positioning on site, the visibility of your menu, the storage space and how you’ll manage peak times.
The choice between direct grilling and slow cooking also affects your planning. With direct cooking, it’s mainly about speed and throughput. With smoked BBQ, you need to take preparation, cooking time and presentation into account.

Would you like to better assess the differences between the various BBQ models? If so, you can view the models at the Experience Centre or book an online consultation. This will give you a better idea of their size, layout, appearance and practical applications.
This is particularly useful if you’re torn between speed and experience. A grill concept is often geared towards immediate service, whilst a smoker is better suited if you want to make the cooking process part of the experience.
With a grill food truck, the cooking process becomes part of the experience. Guests can see the grill in action, smell the barbecue and immediately understand what your concept offers. That makes it a strong choice for brands that want to combine food, visibility and atmosphere in one mobile setup.
